Words. Art. Belonging.
A creative community by and
with care-experienced people.

A creative home where care-experienced
voices become art, memory, and possibility.

What you will find here,
at The Aftercare Project...
There isn't a right way to leave a mark.
You don't have to be a writer.
Bring a sentence.
Bring a doodle.
Bring a photograph.
Bring a voice note.
Bring nothing except yourself.
Come as you are...whether you like spoken word,
poetry, letters, zines, art it doesn't matter.
Give as much or a little as you want,
it's your space and I'll always respect that!

Write it.
Don't write it.

Sing...
Shout...
Dance...
with your words

Whisper a
memory via SMS

Write nothing...
Draw nothing...
Etch a word or phrase...
Your word(s) matter
And so do you

With special thanks and love to Angel,
who organised this workshop and held
the space for these words to be written.
The version of me you see today, is not the final draft.
Don't like it?
Go
I'm still growing, and learning.
But, I know who I am
From a care-experienced 13 year old girl

Stay a little while...

Stories reclaimed.
Futures reimagined.

You are more than a file.
More than a report.
More than what happened to you.
We are an Arts Council Supported project.
A community for care-experienced young people.
Then the artwork.
Then the stories.
Then the explanation.

We were never unfinished...
We were becoming.

This is your space, you're welcome to share here... Submit a poem. Submit a letter. Submit a story, a drawing, a photograph, a memory, a voice note, or a fragment. You don't need to be a writer. You don't need permission. You don't need to be "good enough." The Aftercare Living Archive exists to amplify your voice, your creativity, and your truth.

Every young person deserves the freedom
to dream beyond what happened to them.
Here, dreams are welcomed, nurtured, and given
room to grow into something beautifully their own.
